Project Coven
|
XINA
A serious young woman who prefers to stick to the shadows. Leader of a courier group operating in Eden, covertly passing messages and packages on the behalf of various covens. Not a member of any major coven, as is customary of couriers to ensure fairness. |
KOVO
A charming young man with an affinity for electricity. Friendly and always ready to lend a hand. One of three members of Xina's courier group. Also not a member of any major coven. Treated like a baby brother - he used to fight it, but mostly just accepts the fretting now. |
XINA - DESIGN
Keeping in-line with the techwear aesthetic, I used lots of buckles and straps to decorate a jacket like things. Xina herself is not an incredibly bulky character, thus she wears baggier clothing to appear larger and obscure her runner's physique. The purple straps all flow downwards, guiding the eyes as viewers take in the design. As is common in techwear, tons of bulky pockets are added to present a more "tactical" aesthetic. In order to minimise visual clutter if this character were to be transferred into a 3D model and put into a game, I used neutral colours paired with clear highlights to separate parts of Xina for easy tracking.

KOVO - DESIGN
Kovo is a much more subdued than Xina on the typical techwear paraphernalia. I wanted to emphasize him being light and quick while still keeping the techwear bagginess, and thus decided to overlay more flowy fabric on top of skin tight ones, letting both show and contrast. His shoes are also designed to be much lighter than Xina's. He has far less belts, but I made sure to evoke that linear techwear aesthetic through accent lines. Though I didn't want bulk, I couldn't help but give him a crossbody bag - it just doesn't feel like techwear without at least one pouch on there somewhere.
